Privacy and Data Protection Policy

1. General

Greenerace  Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“BONO”, “we”, “our” or “us”), acting as data controller, is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This notice (the “Privacy Notice”) is designed to tell you about our practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of information that you may provide via this website or our mobile application (the “Platforms“).

This Privacy Notice (together with our Terms and Conditions, any other documents referred to in it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. Our aim is not just to comply with privacy law. It’s to earn your trust.

2. Information we collect

BONO doesn’t make money from posting advertisements on its platform. So we don’t collect data in order to advertise any products or services to you (except notifying you on BONO’s own promotions and offers). The tracking we do at BONO is to make our product work well and provide you with the best user experience.

We collect information from your interactions with our network. Some of this information, you actively tell us (such as your mobile number, which we use to track your account or communicate with you). Other information, we collect based on actions you take while using BONO, such as your interactions with our product features.

We may collect and process the following data about you:

2.1. Information you give us

You may give us information, including information that can identify you (“Personal Data“), when you use our Platforms, by filling in forms on the Platforms (such as the sign-up form), when you enter into any of our competitions, promotions or surveys, when you correspond with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise, and when you report a problem with our Platforms.

The information you give us may include:

2.1.1. Mandatory information required to register for the service we provide on our Platforms or to access other services provided by us, including your name, mobile phone number and a password. All these fields are mandatory. BONO will not be able to provide you with the services offered on our Platforms if the required information is not provided, consequently you will not be able to register for a user account on our Platforms;

2.1.2. A photograph;

2.1.3. A corporate email address/ personal email address;

2.1.4. Details of your vehicles;

2.1.5. Your date of birth, gender information and preferences;

2.1.6. A record of any correspondence between you and us;

2.1.7. A record of any bookings you have made or trip related information you have placed with or through our Platforms;

2.1.8. Details of accounting or financial transactions carried out through our Platforms. This may include information such as your payment details, details of trips or rides you have booked or offered through our Platforms;

2.1.9. Details of your visits to our Platforms and the resources that you access;

2.1.10. Your replies to any surveys or questionnaires, such as your reviews on the trips you have shared with other members of our community. Such information may be used for analytic & user understanding purposes;

2.1.11. Information we may require from you when you report a problem with our Platforms or our service, such as the subject of your request for support;

2.1.12. Location information when you have given consent to the collection and processing of these data;

2.1.13. ID Card and other verification documents that you have agreed to provide to us.

2.2. Information we collect automatically

When you use our services, some information about you is shared with the members of our communities, either on your public profile or during the booking process (e.g. we share your brief profile to users who see you in their ride match list).cial media authentication methods, BONO will access certain Personal Data (e.g. first name, surname, picture etc.) in your social media account pursuant to the applicable terms and conditions of these social media platforms.

2.2.2. With regard to each of your visits to our Platforms we may collect, in accordance with applicable laws and where required with your consent, information relating to the devices you use when using our services. This may include the following information: operating system and platform, information about your visit including the URL clickstream to, through and from our Platforms, services you viewed or searched for, download errors, length of visits to certain pages and page interaction. We collect this information through the use of various technologies including cookies.

2.2.3. We also collect aggregated information regarding your activity on our Platform (such as the amount of rides offered, your message response rate, etc.). Such information may be published on your public profile on our Platform.

3. Data retention

Your Personal Data will be stored for the duration of your relationship with us and then put beyond use:

5 years after your last use of our Platform, if you did not close your account;

1 year after the closing of your account, except if you received a negative rating or report, in which case your Personal Data is stored for either (i) a 2-year period following the latest negative rating or report, or (ii) 1 year after the closing of your account, whichever is longer.

The following categories of Personal Data may be stored for different durations:

Financial data (e.g. payments, reimbursements, etc.) is stored for the duration required by applicable tax and accounting laws;

All user-generated content (e.g. comments and ratings) is anonymised but remains available on our Platforms.

In the event that your account is suspended or blocked, we will keep your data for a period of between 2 and 5 years in order to prevent you from circumventing the rules applying to our Platforms.

4. Data Storage

BONO uses third-party vendors and hosting partners, such as Amazon, for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to run BONO. We maintain both server logs and event logs. By using BONO Services, you authorize BONO to transfer, store, and use your information in India and any other country where we operate.

5. Data Security

We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted to and from our application. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee security. You use the Service at your own risk, and you’re responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account.

6. Use of information collected

We use this information to:

  • provide, test, improve, promote and personalize BONO’s Services
  • fight spam and other forms of abuse
  • generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use BONO’s Services

We will use the information we collect:

PURPOSES LEGAL BASIS
To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information and services that you requested from us; This processing is necessary for the performance of our mutual contractual obligations.
To send you service-related information by email and/or text message and/or any other communication means (e.g. your booking confirmation); This processing is necessary for the performance of our mutual obligations and/or carried out with your consent.
To collect payments from you or to transfer to you the payments we collect on your behalf; This processing is necessary for the performance of our mutual contractual obligations.
To enable you to personalise your user profile on our Platforms; This processing is carried out with your consent.
To enable you to communicate and interact with other members about our services or about the trips(s) you have/will share with other members and/or to organise such trips; This processing is necessary for the performance of our mutual contractual obligations and/or carried out with your consent.
To give you access to our support services and to enable you to communicate with our member relations team; This processing is (i) necessary for the performance of our mutual contractual obligations, (ii) carried out with your consent and/or (iii) necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
To ensure compliance with (i) applicable laws, (ii) our Terms and Conditions, and (iii) our Privacy Notice. Certain breaches that we regard as inappropriate may lead to the suspension of your account; This processing is necessary (i) for the performance of our mutual contractual obligations, (ii) for compliance with our legal obligations and/or (iii) for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
To send you, in accordance with applicable laws and where required, with your consent, marketing materials and information necessary to facilitate the service or the booking process and to make you suggestions and recommendations about goods or services related to our services that may interest you. We also use your data to target you in order to serve our ads on social media platforms. You can learn more about how these features work, and the data that we obtain about you, by visiting the relevant sections of the third party social media platforms; This processing is based on your consent and/or our legitimate interest (i.e. providing  you with meaningful advertising).
To notify you about changes to our services; This processing is necessary (i) for the performance of our mutual contractual obligations, (ii) for compliance with our legal obligations and/or (iii) the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
To carry out verification of your profile, for instance corporate verification process. This processing is based on (i) your consent, (ii) carried out for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and/or (iii) for compliance with our legal obligations.
To administer our Platforms and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, analytic and survey purposes; This processing is based on our legitimate interest (i.e. ensuring the security of our Platforms and improving its features).
To improve our Platforms to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your device; This processing is based on our legitimate interest (i.e. providing  you with meaningful content).
To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so; This processing is necessary (i) for the performance of our mutual contractual obligations and/or (ii) based
on your consent.
As part of our efforts to keep our Platforms safe and secure; This processing is based on (i) our legitimate interest (ensuring the security of our Platforms), (ii) carried out for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and/or (iii) for compliance with our legal obligations.
To measure or understand the effectiveness of information we serve to you and others, and to deliver relevant information to you. This processing is carried out with your consent.

7. Recipients of Information collected

When you use our services, some information about you is shared with the members of our communities, either on your public profile or during the booking process (e.g. we share your brief profile to users who see you in their ride match list).

We may receive and send information about you, including your Personal Data, if you use any of the platforms we operate or from other BONO entities and affiliates, for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice.

We are also working closely with third parties which may be the recipients of your Personal Data such as:

our business partners who are social media platforms and which may provide you with connecting services, such as the connection of the information of your profile, from their social media platforms to our Platforms;

our sub-contractors in technical, payment, identity verification and delivery services or analytics providers.

We only share  your Personal Data with any of these third parties in the follow:

  • Where it is necessary to involve a third party service provider, for the performance of any contract we enter into with you in order to facilitate or extend our services (e.g. if we charge you any fees or collect any money from you in relation to any services on the Platforms);
  • As part of the booking process and in order to provide the requested services, information such as your name, photography, mobile phone number and/or email address, may be displayed on the Platforms and/or passed on to other users;
  • As part of our rating system, the reviews you write will be published on the Platforms. The reviews including your abbreviated name and photography are visible to all visitors of the Platforms;
  • We use analytics and search engine providers to assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Platforms;
  • It is explicitly requested by you (e.g. with when using social media authentication methods);

We may distribute parts of our Platforms (including the trips you have posted) for display on our business partners’ websites through API or widgets. In these cases, some information from your public profile may be displayed on these websites;

BONO may also disclose your information if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access, preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) respond to claims asserted against BONO, (ii) to comply with legal proceedings, (iii) to enforce any agreement with our users such as our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Notice, (iv) in the event of an emergency involving the danger of public health, death or physical injury to a person (v) in the framework of investigation or (vi) to protect the rights, property or personal safety of BONO, its members or others ;

In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your Personal Data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets;

If BONO or all or part of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case Personal Data held by it about its members will be one of the transferred assets.

In accordance with applicable laws and where required with your consent, we may combine information about you, including your Personal Data and cookie information, we send to and receive from our business partners. We may use this information and the combined information for the purposes set out above.

8. Moderating your messages

We may review, scan, or analyse the messages you exchange with other members of our community through our Platforms for fraud prevention, service improvement, customer support purposes, enforcement of the contracts entered into with our members (such as our Terms and Conditions). For example, in order to prevent the circumventing of our online booking system, we may scan and analyse messages sent through our Platforms to check that they do not include any contact details or references to other websites.

We will never scan or analyse your messages with other members of our community for commercial and advertising purposes. We may use automated methods to carry out the moderation of these messages.

9. Information Disclosure

BONO won’t transfer information about you to third parties for the purpose of providing or facilitating third-party advertising to you. We won’t sell information about you.

We may share your account information with third parties in some circumstances, including: (1) with your consent; (2) to a service provider or partner who meets our data protection standards; (3) with academic or non-profit researchers, with aggregation, anonymization, or pseudonomization; (4) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, such as pursuant to a subpoena or other legal process; (5) when we have a good faith belief that doing so will help prevent imminent harm to someone.

If we are going to share your information in response to legal process, we’ll give you notice so you can challenge it (for example by seeking court intervention), unless we’re prohibited by law or believe doing so may endanger others. We will object to requests for information about users of our services that we believe are improper.

10. Tracking & Cookies

We use browser cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you return to our Services. We use them in various ways, for example to log you in, remember your preferences (such as default language), evaluate email effectiveness, allow our paywall and meter to function, and personalize content and other information.

BONO doesn’t track you across the Internet. We track only your interactions within the BONO network (which encompasses BONORIDE.com and custom domains hosted by BONO).

Some third-party services that we use to provide the BONO Service, such as Google Analytics, may place their own cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers use of cookies by BONO only and not the use of cookies by third parties.

BONO complies with the “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) standard recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium. For logged-out users browsing with DNT enabled, BONO’s analytics will not receive data about you, but we will do some first-party tracking in order to customize content and provide data to third-party service providers that enable BONO Services to work. When you use BONO while logged-in to your account, we cannot comply with DNT.

11. Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization or sale of assets such that your information would be transferred or become subject to a different privacy policy, we’ll notify you in advance so you can opt out of any such new policy by deleting your account before transfer.

12. Confidentiality of your password

Where you have chosen a password which enables you to access certain parts of our Platforms, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

13. Changes to our Privacy Notice

Any changes we may make to our Privacy Notice in the future will be posted on this page. Where appropriate, we will notify you or seek your consent. Please check back frequently to see any updates or changes to our Privacy Notice.

14. Grievance Redressal

If you find any discrepancies or have any grievances in relation to the collection, storage, use, disclosure and transfer of Your Personal Information under this Privacy Policy or any terms of BONO’s Terms and Conditions, please write to contact@bonoride.com with a subject mentioning “For grievance Redressal”. The details of the grievance officer may be changed by us from time to time by updating this Privacy Policy.
